Route: From Milford Haven to Amroth

Overview

The journey on the southern section of this beautiful coast will take you from Milford Haven, where the tranquil Daugleddau estuary feeds into one of the finest natural deep water harbours in the world - to the peaceful seaside village of Amroth, with its wide sandy beach and the acknowledged "end" of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

The trail is filled with contrasting features, such as the spectacular limestone cliffs, stacks and arches of the Castlemartin Peninsula, the Bosherston lakes, 3 flooded limestone valleys best known for their covering carpet of lilies and the steep-sided wooded valleys inland from Amroth.

The most beautiful beaches of the county can be found in this section of the coast path such as those at Freshwater West, (where a scene was filmed for Harry Potters Deathly Hallows film), Broad Haven South and Barafundle Bay, possibly the most beautiful beach in Britain.

Other highlights include the charming walled town of historic Pembroke, with its Norman Castle, the birthplace of Henry VII, the spectacular 13th Century chapel built into the rocks at St Govans Head, the tiny harbour at Stackpole Quay, the romantic, fairy tale setting of the Norman Castle at Manorbier and the quaint and picturesque seaside town of Tenby.

A memorable walk during which, you will see some of Wales' most charming coastal landscape, wildlife, stunning scenery and history.
